Extensive field experience collecting/sampling and compiling structural, surficial, and geophysical data, gained though both educational and exploration programs.
Strong interpretational and problem solving skills in many aspects of geology and specifically in the mineral exploration industry.
Experience with managing logistics and QA/QC of geological data collected on diamond-drill, mud-rotary, reverse-Circulation, geophysical, and geotechnical exploration programs.
Data input, manipulation, and organizational skills in several different computer programs including Arc GIS, Microsoft Excel, GemLink, Geosoft, Geotic, Aquire, I- core and various online ad-serving platforms.
EDUCATION:
B.Sc. Major in Geoscience - 2013 – June 2017
Vancouver Island University
Developed a strong understanding in many geologic fields including, mining geology, structural geology, environmental geology, geochemistry, engineering geology, geophysics, hydrogeology, Quaternary geology, and sedimentology.
Established data collection skills in the field through several studies and field school courses in the interior of British Columbia, Vancouver Island, and Iceland.
Took courses regarding GIS, and remote sensing technology. Also developed an understanding of earth environments, atmospheric environments, and geomorphology. WORK EXPERIENCE:
Geologist – Red River Energy, Suncor Basemine – January 2020 to Present
Supervised core-handling and data collection on multiple mud-rotary drills. Relied upon to document and control ore recovery, and to terminate holes at specified depth in basement rock to avoid trespass. Assisted well-site consultants and rig crews with drilling logistics, documentation, and troubleshooting.
Geologist – NexGen Energy Ltd, Saskatoon SK – January 2019 to July 2019
Logged core out of the Rook I camp in Northern Saskatchewan. Became familiar and knowledgeable with the geology of the Athabasca Basin, and uranium mineralization. Relied upon to keep up with core logging, processing, and sampling from a 10 DD rig resource exploration program. Used Aquire logging software, and Microsoft access for geological data storage and QA/QC. Gained experience working within and abiding by safety regulations regarding Uranium, and exposure to radiation. Geologist – Rio Minerals, Fort Saint James BC – November 2018 to January 2019
Core-logged for a brief grass-roots gold exploration project in Northern BC. Helped with target selection and drilling logistics while setting up the program. Relied upon to properly collect, organize, and report geological data to project manager. Developed core-logging database using Microsoft Excel.
Geologist – Aurora Geosciences, Yellowknife NWT – June 2017- November 2018
Conducted an IP geophysical survey outside of Whale Cove, Nunavut. Was relied upon to work efficiently and insure high quality data was collected during a 12-hour night shift survey. Performed all aspects of the IP survey (receiver, transmitter, etc.). Worked with a team to solve/troubleshoot a combination of different equipment malfunctions, ground issues, and logistical problems to complete the survey. (June/July 2017)
Completed a soil sampling project in the northern NWT. Collected A/B horizon soil samples, while maintaining a safe and orderly tent camp in a remote area. (August 2017)
Worked core-cutting, and geo-teching on a diamond drill project 50km north of Dawson City, Yukon. Was responsible for organizing and sampling approximately 1600m of core. Assisted core logger with mineral/rock identification, and geological data QA/QC.
(August/September 2017)
Crew-chief for a magnetic survey outside of Ranking Inlet, Nunavut. Relied upon to collect and process roughly 2000km of high-resolution magnetic data. Field-processed all data using python scripts, GemLink, and Geosoft. Managed all safety, equipment, and logistical issues that came along with the harsh and relentless winter conditions of the area. (April/May 2018)
Gained experience RC chip sampling, core logging, and geo-teching kimberlite at the Ekati Diamond Mine, NWT. Relied upon to ensure the security, integrity, and organization of both bulk and representative RC chip samples. Worked along-side kimberlite specialist to log and tech all core from exploration and geo-technical drill programs. Became a crew- chief and managed company staffing, logistics, and QA/QC of all the geologic data collected from drill programs. (February 2018 – September 2018)
Logged core for Osisko Metals at their Pine Point property outside of Hay River, NWT. Became familiar and knowledgeable about MVT deposits, corresponding lithologies, and Pb-Zn mineralization. Used GeoticLog software to record all geological and sampling data
(October 2018).
VOLUNTEER/COMMUNITY EXPERIENCE:
