Senior Petroleum Engineer (Exploration, Exploitation, Development)

As an integral multi-discipline team member (exploration reservoir engineer) - guided, planned and executed a 3 year exploration drilling program (17 wells) in search of conventional oil in numerous geological formations (Glauconite, Sunburst, Sawtooth, Pekisko, Banff, Exshaw, Big Valley, Nisku, Leduc, Beaverhill Lake, Winnipegosis, PreCambrian) in SE Alberta by evaluating project risks and economics with sound technical recommendations.

Managed massive amount of data. Organized, filtered, analyzed and evaluated many existing fields, pools and schemes including unconventional plays (Lithic Glauc and Ellerslie) as exploration analogies.

Managed non-operated MHGC waterflood and polymer flood project. Evaluated and drilled 7 polmerflood producers and injectors. Converted wells to polymer injection. Conducted internal reserves (NI 51-101) and liaised with 3rd party reserves auditor for yearend reserves.

Conceptualized gas storage scheme and dump waterflood proposal.

Managed redevelopment and exploitation of Patos Marinza, a heavy oil brown field redevelopment, in Albania with up to 20+ layered sands with horizontals.

Contributed to the corporate production growth of 15% percent year over year from 14,000 to 22,000 bopd. Expanded pools, adding new reserves with appraisal drilling. North asset production increased 62% from 5,400 to 8,800 bopd in 3 years. Added and converted 10+ mmbbls to PDP reserves, spent capital of US$100+MM.

Designed completion, well interventions and well testing programs for two complex on-shore exploration wells with significant over pressured formations that required kill fluid weight as high as 15 ppg CaCl2/CaBr2. Snowcap-1 production tested 500 bopd of light oil and 5 mmcf/d of gas.

Sourced and procured all completion and well test equipment from local and international suppliers. Ensured all necessary components were not missed to avoid costly rig down time.

PETRO ANDINA RESOURCES INC. (Purchased by Pluspetrol) Calgary

A junior International E&P startup company with production in the Neuquén basin of Argentina

Senior Engineer, Production & Operations 2004-2009

Provided technology transfer and best production practice CHOPS, Cold Heavy Oil Production with Sand, to the heavy oil field in Neuquén basin of Argentina. Production increase from zero to 28,000 bopd (net 14,000 bopd) using CHOPS in combination with water flooding.

Managed the design of the 1000 m3/d US$11MM Alkaline Surfactant Polymer (ASP) pilot batch mixing and injection facility. Project was interrupted with the unsolicited bid for Petro Andina.

Managed the first technical successful Thermal pilot project in Argentina.

Collaborated with the Thermal Operations Consultant, monitored and optimized production and injection.

Designed CSS and Steam flood completions and well intervention programs.

Converted conventional heavy oil wells to CSS injection and production wells.

Set up the injection and production report structure and templates. Prepared thermal capital and operating budget.
