2017 - 2019
Site Safety Manager
HSE Manager for a workforce of more than 150+ personnel, including four direct reports. Worked closely with Site Project Manager to ensure compliance with HSE policies and procedures and employees maintained all required training requirements for this major petrochemical refinery. Served as the primary Safety Liaison between Excel and Shell's Safety and Leadership Teams. Investigated all incidents and authored reports for distribution to executives.
Chosen by Shell's Safety Leadership Team to revitalize two vital Safety Initiatives – Goal Zero and Stop Work Authority Program. Programs essential to the identification and mitigation of hazards to a workforce of more than 3,000.
Initiated a workforce Safety Committee – six members. Committee met bi-weekly to discuss issues or concerns that were of importance to co-workers. Members were empowered to discuss issues openly without retribution.

Prevented potential employee health issues by replacing improperly stored HEPA filter. Project management team was not aware that filters were not designed for reuse – coordinated with corporate HSE staff for wider dissemination of finding.
Reviewed Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for stored hazardous chemicals. Identified several incompatible chemicals, co-located, that posed serious hazards to both personnel and property. Procured three safety storage cabinets as a preventive measure.
Lauded for leadership after a 30-day Turn Around was completed without any incidents or injuries. Project entailed mobilization and demobilization of a 45-person crew.
