Project Description

Global Business Services is an Essbase development project for integration of Standard Chartered wholesale banking and consumer banking businesses. Team works on the developed of a new application for the integrated reporting environment.

Responsibilities

Coordinated with WBC users and Consumer banking users for understanding the new reporting needs.

Estimated effort and timeline for the requirement including product installation, BRD walkthrough, design, development, testing and implementation.

Coordinated with various teams to understand the data availability and extraction needs.

Redesigned the outline structure to handle the data from the upstream ‘Pipeline’ application.

Developed the data loading rule files to load the extract from Pipeline.

Designed the overall flow to handle the complex calculations and actual/budgeted cost allocation.

Designed Smart View templates for user to load data into the application.

Presented the application design walkthrough to users and technical walkthrough to the production support team.

Project Description

WBC Hyperion Development is an Essbase development project for the Standard Chartered wholesale banking. Development team works on enhancement of the reporting cubes and develops budgeting/forecasting applications whose results are used for high level reporting and inbound for various downstream applications.

Responsibilities

Coordinated with the FSSC users on understanding the business requirement for realignment of the WBC cubes as per the changing reporting structure.

Coordinated with the user team on BRD walkthrough, project timeline discussions, UAT testing scenarios, development signoff and post implementation validations.

Estimated effort and timeline for various requirement including system change feasibility and application performance impact.

Prepared functional and technical specification documents.

Redesigned outline structure and calculation logic as per the requirement.

Performance tuned the batch calculation by outline reordering, optimizing calculation scripts, changing the calculation flow logic and cache optimization.

Developed a sub cube for Actual and Budget cost allocation complex calculation logic as part of optimizing the batch performance which the batch calculation time by half.

Project Description Standard Chartered Bank has 3 core business areas such as Whole Sale banking, Consumer Banking and People Soft Financials (PSF). PSF has 100+ Hyperion Essbase application in BSO and ASO for each regions to maintain actual, budget and forecast financials. Each application has its own standard change calendar to keep applications up to date as per the reporting changes.

Responsibilities

Managed the team in handling the calendar changes including outline update, FR updates, assign/unassign UDAs, formula changes.

Reviewed the BRD, the technical/functional spec and the implementation plan for every change

Created application for new location roll outs including Qatar,

Updated the SLA and worked with the users and compliance team.

Mosaic is the budgeting application for Pfizer Inc. It has Global and Local Mosaic application in Hyperion Planning. The Actual data are transferred from the Controllers Essbase applications and the budgeting data are loaded by the users

Responsibilities

Worked on creation of Global and Local Mosaic applications as per BRD

Created SIS tasks to export level-0 data for backup, performing security refresh and database refresh

Performed migration of all planning artifacts such as User and groups, data forms, reports, substitution variables, Essbase rule files, Business Rules

Worked on creating and maintaining of data forms and smart lists, menus, user and substitution variables associated to data forms, assigning BR to forms

Performed metadata changes such as outline member change, dimension security changes, alias change

Involved in adding account annotation, Planning Unit annotations and maintaining planning units

Worked with Smart view to load and analyze data. Smart View helps in drill-down to the level 0 members to compare and find discrepancies

Developed ODI interfaces to perform data load from Controllers’ application into Global Mosaic application

Pfizer Hyperion team supports the Pfizer financial consolidation and budgeting & forecasting applications for Pfizer’s global markets. The financial results are used by Pfizer Finance Directors for high level management reporting and for external reporting.

Responsibilities

Analysis of Essbase reporting applications (Controllers and PDB), data sources and interfaces between applications for data issues.

Created and implemented the calculation scripts to perform currency conversion, data copy between scenario-based Pfizer logic, clear data and aggregate data.

Worked on data extractions from Market P&L application using MAXL scripts, Informatica, Star Analytics and creating rule files to load data into HFM2 (budget) application.
