Transmission Planning Engineering Intern NV Energy 05-2019 – PRESENT
• Responsible for using software to evaluate the power grid to conduct studies and ensure compliance with set standards.
o Operating Tara (Transmission Adequacy & Reliability Assessment) to analyze the effects of grid failures on the monitored power system(s). o Using GE PSLF to simulate the power system to find out system limits that cause unstable conditions.
• Created automation tools to increase the speed of compliance reports.
• Responsible for software needs of co-workers.
o Created a Google Earth add-on that can use information from NV Energy’s database and add the information onto the layout of the application. o Assisted in setting up a virtual machine that uses company computing resources to increase the speed of software computations through distributed computing.
