HSE QUALIFICATION SUMMARY

• Direct and manage the Health, Safety, Environmental & Security organization within the HSE Department, ensuring compliance with all regulations and partnering with other Departments, Corporate and Business Unit HSE leadership to achieve an industry- leading level of HSE performance. Perform safety and environmental audits and to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance.

• Drive continual improvement through the development of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs, standards, training and best practices and instill an interdependent safety culture across all operations and facilities.

• Develop and implement all EHS regulatory compliance programs and train employees to perform their roles within those programs in order to protect the human health and the environment. Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions. Conduct EHS facility audits, inspections, incident investigations, root-cause analyses, maintain all EHS regulatory compliance records and implement cost effective corrective and preventive actions to resolve EHS matters.

Regulatory agency contact for all safety, health and environmental matters and responsible for all EHS regulatory reporting.

• Oversee the investigation of incidents or complaints regarding the application of EHS requirements. Audit, measure and ensure compliance/effective implementation of the EHS Management System and assist in the planning for EHS continual improvement to achieve objectives and targets.

• Update and verify full implementation of all environmental health and safety programs. Assure compliance with all applicable OSHA workplace safety requirements and other initiatives to ensure the facility meets all corporate requirements.

• Identify and share best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work process risks, raise safety awareness, and improve safe work practices. Ensure continual safety improvements and set annual objectives and targets.

• Work with the Management to develop remediation solutions for audit issues. Participate with the plant teams to investigate all accidents, near-misses, and injuries to determine root causes, install preventive measures, and help manage return-to-work activities.

• Achieve and maintain the overall Health, Safety and Environmental Management Systems (HSEMS) which includes ISO 14001/50001/OHSAS 18001 certifications. Assist in the continual development and execution of HSE management systems.

• Oversee and manage numerous environmental programs (i.e., RCRA, NPDES, Wastewater, Air, SPCC, etc.), policies, standards and objectives, including support and implementation of pollution prevention and waste management tools. Serves as the leading member of the management of change (MOC) team that identifies safety hazards and impacts to the environment.

• Serve as a strategic HSE leader, leading the development and execution of the business unit HSE strategy. Lead programs that minimize risk to the Site and Business Unit which includes programs in safety management, including behavior-based programs, DOT and OSHA and EPA/MPCA compliance, employee training and oversight, and continuous improvement.

• Oversee and lead efforts to ensure HSE regulatory compliance in a complex and highly regulated environment. Supports the identification and execution of environmental footprint reduction efforts consistent with company sustainability goals. Leads pollution prevention efforts.

• Responsible for maintaining and communicating EHS policies and procedures and developing strategies to address complex environmental, safety and health laws and regulations. Champion and promote a strong safety culture and environmental stewardship. Ensure conformance and compliance with all HSE policies, procedures and regulations. Participate in the Cummins corporate HSE center-of-excellence team that is responsible for developing and implementing HSE programs and processes.

• Manage accident/incident investigations and implement preventive measures for the future. Conduct or coordinate audits and inspections as required by regulatory agencies and company policies. Interprets and applies internal and external standards in support of hazard and risk reduction and compliance. Trains employees and other applicable personnel on HSE procedures, practices and controls. Coaches and mentors HSE Supervisors, Team Leads and Technicians.
