Highlight of the deployment included being selected to provide armed Close Protection for a French Politician.
• French Guiana (Op Harpies) - Selected as the Multiple Commander to lead the team on missions in search of illegal gold mining operations. Provided the Combat Medic function on assigned missions/at the camp; along with delivering medical training and managing the Guard Force.
• Afghanistan (Op Pamir) - Took part in C-IED Team operations conducting searches for IED's and route clearance. Established and performed Counter Improvised Explosive Device procedures supporting International Security Assistance Forces and the Afghan National Army. As Search Specialist participated in search and detect operations; searching for evidence of IED's, weapons and ammunition caches, conducting safe disposal of unexploded ordnance and ammunition. Conducted combat operations with the aim to dominate ground, extending ISAF influence across the region to deter insurgent activity. Highlights of this deployment included being awarded the Cross of Military Valor.
