Experience and Skills
I bring over 35 years’ experience and contacts in the oil/gas industry. For the past 18 years, I co-owned a welding fabrication and field construction company where we completed small and large scale multi million dollar projects on time, on budget, safely (no lost time accidents), with high quality standards. Our jobs varied in size, scale, nature, location, and manpower, and we worked as either a general contractor or subcontractor. I was responsible for:
Developing profitable business relationships with clients/partners, potential clients, and consultants.
Project management and accountability for jobs ranging from 5 to 175 men, 26,000+ weld inch, and 600,000 lbs of steel.
Accurate estimating/job costing of bids and proposals.
Planning and managing contracts/agreements and budgets throughout the duration of each project, including quality control and safety management.
Recruiting, managing employee performance, coaching/mentoring junior staff, tracking workloads to maximize productivity.
Supervising crew and equipment.
Creating and adhering to job procedures (large lifts, sour mask work, shutdowns, live plants, specialty piping, hydro testing, proper stress relieving, other).
Negotiating terms of agreements with subcontractors and suppliers, and material expediting.
Ensuring practical and effective measures were incorporated in each project to protect the environment and health and safety of our employees, subcontractors and general public.
