GIS Consultant
Upgrading Arcmap Desktop environment to ArcGIS Pro and importing MXD files into APRX files. Processing received map and data requests as needed from various team members across multiple projects. Collect data from online resources and perform actions such as buffers, intersect, and spatial joins to create custom spatial and tabular data for project planning. Converting raster data to vector data for further spatial analysis. Merging tabular data in multiple worksheets. PACORINI GLOBAL SERVICES INC Oct 03, 2005 - Sep 01, 2007
New Orleans, Louisiana
Machine Operator / Chief Shipping Clerk
Being a certified forklift and crane operator, I originally went there with some friends to assist in hurricane Katrina recovery efforts. We started by unloading humanitarian aid and the building supplies used to repair the damage to the levy system. After about a month I was promoted from a machine operator to shipping clerk by demonstration of my strong mathematical skill, and problem-solving ability. Duties performed included evaluation and comparison of the bill of lading for each hatch containing cargo on the inbound vessel with the physical cargo to insure accuracy. Report any damage, inconsistencies, or inaccuracies between the physical cargo and the stowage reports to the crew foreman and the superintendent. Calculate tonnage of cargo needed to meet the draft requirements of outgoing barges depending on their route and destination and convey the requirements to the appropriate
personnel. Gather tonnage reports from multiple clerks and produce outgoing shipping reports, while also balancing the pulled tons vs remaining to ensure the accuracy of reported workflow. Coordinate with crew foreman, and port superintendent to calculate the approximate finish time of each barge in order to order the tugboat to pull the finished barge and install an empty barge.
