Led team developing next-generation electrical architecture focused on cost leadership, with target of 30% system cost reduction.

Lead architect for new concept motor drive control that achieved 50% cost reduction over previous version.

Developed and improved processes for innovation and technology development programs, including the transition into product development.

Led Electrical Engineering organization for new Engineering Center in Shanghai, China. Provided technical, product and leadership knowledge to new engineers as well as Otis China organization; grew electrical group from 0 to 14 people.

Shifted Otis China business back to using Otis controllers through development of cost-effective elevator controller.

Drove creation and improvement of processes in new Engineering Center, including project management using earned value (EVMS), resource management, hiring and financial budgeting.

Obtained detailed knowledge of China – both low-cost sourcing opportunities and challenges as well as people and culture.

Drove strategy and road map of core electrical components including main computing platform and system power supply for all elevator systems worldwide.

Developed long-range technology plans and provide the criteria and data for selection of the appropriate technologies for use in Otis products.

Served in several positions of increasing responsibility including System Architect, Control Architect, and Drive Control Engineer.

Team lead for international team developing new modular system architecture.

Architect for new control product line, incorporating technologies such as Windows CE, RISC processors, PCI bus, and Ethernet.

Drove all aspects of motion and motor control algorithm development and design. Involved in all aspects of drive development, including drive architecture, EMI filtering, power electronics, and digital logic.
