Description

2017-2018

Port-au-Prince / Haiti

Communication Officer at the Community Assistance Project in Mirebalais

In 2016, the former UN Secretary Ban Ki-moon recognized the UN responsibility on the cholera introduction in Haiti in 2010. In this case a project was created by the UN HQ in NYC to assist the cholera victims in Mirebalais and (city and villages around) where the disease was declared for the first time in Haiti, through some community projects in memory of the victims.

My job is to report all the meetings our team has with the community leaders and population in the elaboration of the projects proposed by them, take photos and videos of these activities, prepare communication plan for intern diffusion (because of the politic complexity of the project) …

2011-2014

During this period of time at the MINUSTAH (February 2011 – June 2014) I wrote many articles on the UN Mission (MINUSTAH and Agencies) work in Haiti, such as the Quick Impact Projects (QIP), the work with children and women (Human Right), and the Development of the Haiti National Police (PNH), http://www.minustah.org/police-nationale-dhaiti-depuis-2004-evolutions-revolutions/.

I also write articles regarding to Haitian culture according to the UN values on Human Right, such as articles based on the “Rara” Dance : http://www.minustah.org/le-rara-rythme-vaudou/, the Christmas “fanal”,http://www.minustah.org/les-fanaux-ou-leclairage-traditionnel-de-noel-en-haiti/ […] and the Protection of the environment in Haiti, http://www.minustah.org/haiti-la-foret-des-pins-un-patrimoine-a-sauvegarder/ … articles which are among the most read, the most shared and the most commented.

I also take photos to illustrate my articles. I post also articles on the MINUSTAH website www.minustah.org . This experience allows me to see the polyvalence I have. And it is so fruitful and successful to me.

2008-2011

Pétionville / Haiti

Haiti Press Network (HPN)

Journalist

In HPN I realized many stories on the Haitian way of life, Haitian history, and society. After the earthquake of January 12th 2010, I produced many reports on this situation, the nostalgic Port-au-Prince, “Port-au-Prince un patrimoine à sauver” related on the well-known Greek singer Nana Mouskouri official website :http://www.nana-mouskouri.net/?p=7173.

Another example is the article I wrote on the Norwegian Nordic city of Tromsø, which cathedral is so similar to Gonaives cathedral :

Our competence to work in group allows us to present on a brief delay the numeric support of the old documents of Haitian Constitution, laws, etc. by scanning them and present the final products available on the Presse Nationales d’Haiti website, and several numeric supports.

Port-au-Prince / Haiti

REHRED

Journalist and Social Media Coordonator

In this project which was my first experience in the domain of mass media, by writing articles on the University in Haiti at www.haiti-universite.org. I also animate debates regarding the Haitian politics, the problem in the University. Etc.

During the period of the political crisis in Haiti on February 2004, national and international staffs have deserted the capital city Port-au-Prince and I was the only who coordinate to protect the office from the pillage. I coordinated to my bosses through internet to move our office to a safe place until they come back to the country several weeks later.

And they have appreciated this courage on me.

17.Additional information (Publications; Presentations; Projects: Conferences/Seminars; Honours and Awards; Volunteering)

I was among the 151 Local Guides selected by Google among thousands of applicants worldwide to take part to a meeting plus training in San Francisco and Mountain View, California, in the US the 16th to 18th October 2018. It was a great experience.

I’m a professor of journalism at the University of Notre Dame in Haiti since 2016

I like working in the domain of environment and social fields with the children and youth Association in my church, where each time I present them a theme in which they have to work together in. I worked as voluntary in several events, such as the flooding in Gonaïves on September 2004 with the Secrétérerie d’Etat à la Jeunesse.

In October 2012, I have the privilege to be among the international journalists who participated at the Nomination of the 2012 Nobel Price at Nobel Institut in Oslo the capital of the Kingdom of Norway. This year, October 12th 2012, it was the European Union which was selected for this price.
