Materials Manager

Managed $12 million of inventory (raw materials/WIP/& finished goods) in a custom design environment.

Supervised six direct personnel related to Shipping/Receiving/Inventory Control/Warehousing and 35 indirect assigned to Material Handling in a multi-shift operation.

Problem solved to implement a barcode reporting process for the fabrication department’s aluminum sheet laser burn & routing tables. Eliminated $120,000 inventory shrink and because of accurate aluminum sheet inventory improved the burn/routing tables productivity.

Established a cycle count process to identify & correct a 7% inventory shrink. Worked with Engineering to trouble shoot and correct root cause systemic BOM issues. Benchmarked other MAC plants to improve/ implement other inventory reporting processes.

Capitalized on $20,000 savings implementing returnable metal racks for packaging extruded aluminum pipe kits.

Established department KPI metrics and targets in areas where they did not exist.

Senior Supply Planner

Planned and purchased Loctite Consumer Adhesive assigned product segment from Henkel international affiliates and subcontracted suppliers.

Responsible and controlled $2.5 million for assigned inventory achieving targeted 12 turns and sustained a 95% plus customer service level.

Norcold Inc., Sidney, Ohio 1991 - 2015

Materials Manager

Directed operation’s sales forecasting, master schedule, final assembly and supplier scheduling processes sustaining a 99% customer on time shipment level for OEM and service parts.

Reduced total inventory $2.5 million sustaining $6.5 million inventory to achieve and sustain 15-18 inventory turns. Was responsible to manage and control $100 million annual inventory spend.

Managed total inventory distributed across two production plants, one central warehouse, and three satellite distribution warehouses.

Implemented Lean principles for 5S/mix model schedule/ & pull systems for both purchased and internal manufactured Kanban parts. Strategically analyzed supply base to identify 75 suppliers and 2500 components incorporated into pull systems.
