I worked on Yorba Slaughter Adobe Protection for USACE the project consisted mass grading and removals and lining the slope with bedding materials and with 24” Rip Rap and 15” Rip Rap and building 2 storm drain and concrete structures with flap gate, combination of concrete and rock flood channel as quality control manager I ensured that the work was installed per the project plans and specifications. I implemented the contractor quality control plan and was the main liaison to USACE engineers QA. My duties also consisted of including overseeing all in-place field testing for soils and concrete as well as pre-testing all materials at the source for approval, reviewed all submittals and shop drawing for correctness, submitted daily field reports in the RMS system. I was also responsible for RFI to USACE on plan and specification, conflicts and clarifications.

I worked on the Prado Dam Auxiliary Embankment and Flood Wall in Corona, CA for USACE. The project consisted of moving 1 million CY of material, lining the slopes with 24” rock, building 1,000 LF of 2’ thick concrete floodwall, 2 storm water structures and a combination concrete and rock flood channel. As Quality Control Manager, I ensured that the work was installed per the project plans and specifications. I implemented the Contractor’s Quality Control Plan and was the main liaison to USACE’s QA. I worked as a Senior Soils Inspector, Special Deputy Inspector, Observation and Quality Control Inspector for U.S. military, local government agencies, and private company’s civil, commercial, and industrial engineering projects including roadways, bridges, dams, underground utilities, concrete structures, water storage facilities, commercial building projects, as well as industrial projects. I performed geotechnical, field and laboratory testing on both soil and concrete, as well as inspecting and verifying adherence to plans and specifications. I was responsible to set up mobile lab testing on several remote projects that I worked on out of town. I performed as an Assistant Laboratory Manager for material testing of concrete, soils, grout, asphalt and aggregates per ASTM & Caltrans Standards for several of the years spent at CTE. I also inspected rebar and steel for adherence to industrial and structural drawings.
