M.E Projects:

1. Phase - 1 Optimization of process parameters on friction stir welding of AA2014 & AA6082 Aluminium alloy.

Description: The parameters are taking based on literature review, used to weld find out the Optimized parameters on tensile result.

2. Phase - 2 Optimization and characterization process parameters on friction stir welding AA2014 & AA6082 by using taguchi based grey analysis method.

Description: The study showed that dissimilar joints of Aluminium alloy 2014 and Aluminium alloy 6082 welded successfully by Friction Stir Welding Process to yield the required properties without metallurgical difficulties. For tensile strength, SEM analysis, x-rd, impact test, macro structure, microstructure, salt spray test, micro hardness, liquid penetration test, surface morphology results are obtained.

3. Optimization and characterization studies on dissimilar aluminium alloy aa2014 & aa6082 rod using friction welding process by using taguchi method

Description: The project based on comparison of friction welding process of aluminium rod and friction stir welding process of aluminium plate. The study showed that dissimilar joints of Aluminium alloy 2014 and Aluminium alloy 6082 welded successfully by Friction Welding Process to yield the required properties without metallurgical difficulties. Knowledge gained:

The inspection method based on AWS D1.1 structural welding code-steel, Clause 6, Class B and IS4260 for weld scanning.

For plate lamination checking based on ASTM435, ASTM 578, and IS4225.

Before UT inspection, visual inspection checked and goes for UT. Universal beam, Universal Colum, railway bridge materials, pipe, and plate are Weld scan upto 60mm, Plate lamination and thickness are inspected. EINSTEIN II DGS UT machine are used.

2. COMPANY : J K Inspection services, BHEL P.O., Ranipet Vellore -632 406.

PERIOD : 28/05/2019 – 25/07/2019

POSITION : NDT Technician for (LPT, MPT, UT, RT).

Knowledge gained:

The RT inspection method is used to test for welding and casting. Rolli 2 camera Ir192, 16 Curie and D7 film is used.Welding Inspection for boilers, furnaces, plates, pipes and casting inspection for pipe housing, T joints are used.

RT inspection method defects are carried cut and Reweld. If cut the material to check the LPI any surface defects in material. Universal beam, Universal column, pipe joint, and plate laminations are used UT inspection method. Near to surface upto 6mm to check MPI method for Prod and Yoke.

3. Shut down Job:
