KC Northland and Jackson County Amateur Radio Emergency Services (ARES) – As a trained storm spotter and communicator, I (and ARES members) assist County Offices of Emergency Management, as well as municipalities. In times of need, we provide accurate, timely information which frees responding agencies to perform their immediate tasks, and shortens the time required to pass vital information. Communications during public service events – As an amateur radio operator, I've helped provide communications assistance during events such as the Kansas City Marathon, Bikers for Babies, the Crop Walk, etc. Approximately 2000-Present.
