Enhancement of Conversion of Transesterification of Esters in a Recycle Bed Reactor Jan’16-Apr’16

Conducted experimental analysis in Recycle bed reactor using Amberlyst-15 as a catalyst for Transesterification reactions. Focused on recycle ratio influence on Conversion and kinetics of Recycle Bed reactor using various combinations of esters.

The aim to take up this project is, polymer recycling can be better handled using Transesterification compared to other conventional methods.

Gauze Reactor Modelling and its Applications Sep’15-Nov’15

Heat and Mass transfer characteristics of the wire Gauze reactor with reaction mechanism contrast to conventional reactors was studied theoretically.

Developed rate equation for reactions controlled by external mass transfer (by assuming a thin wire on gauze reactor acts as a Plug Flow Reactor).

Phytoremediation of Waste Water through Artificial Wetlands Mar’15-May’15

Developed a pilot scale artificial wetland to treat wastewater using Phytotransformation mechanism of Phytoremediation. Used Indian mustard to treat waste water.

Continuous day wise monitoring of COD, BOD levels depicted the metabolic activity of plants towards pollutants and decrease in the levels of organic pollutants. Technical Proficiency
