PROJECT
We designed a milk products monitoring system for the detection of microbial activities and adulteration. It consists of 3 sensors which detects the volatile components present in the milk which can be detected by these sensors. The 3 sensors detect compounds of alcohol, LPG & methane and CO & CO2. These compounds will vary according to the level of microbial activities present in the milk. The values detected are converted from analog to digital and stored in the PIC microcontroller which compares these values with the set point values and displays the results in the 16*2 LCD display. If these values exceed a certain value a buzzer will alarm the worker. A GSM module is present to transfer these values via SMS to a mobile no. which is stored in the microcontroller.
MINI PROJECT
We designed an intelligent power supply board using LM324 operational amplifiers as the main component on an ordinary extension board used everywhere. Our design aim was primarily on power reduction and cost efficiency. This intelligent power supply can be used for television sets, desktop computers etc. when desktop is shut down only by using the shutdown option instead of completely shutting down the main switch also after shut down option, power is being used even after our use because the computer is in standby mode, in such cases intelligent power supply can be sued for power reduction. When the computer goes to ‘stand by’ mode after shut down option, power is reduced by more than 50 %. Therefore this reduction of power is detected by the circuit and therefore the whole device will go to permanent shutdown.
