DESSERTATION

Design of asymmetric cable stayed bridge

Cable stayed bridges are well known for their stability and economicity for bridges spanning around 300 meters to 600 meters where a cantilever bridge is not so efficient and suspension bridge is not economic.

Design of bow string arch bridge

Tied arch bridges are both aesthetic and economical alternates to long span bridges holding a place in the hierarchy of major bridges. They fit in a niche between viable and economical plate girder spans and short cable stayed bridge spans. There are several variations of the tied arch with the most common form being those having vertical hangers, stiff tie girders and slender arch ribs which is popularly known as the “Bow String arch” and the bridge that is constructed using this bow string arch is called “Bow String arch bridge”.
