PROJECT:

Defluoridation of synthetic water using Bio adsorbents –Defluoridation of water using bio adsorbents. Synthetic water was used as the Base for each experiment performed and local leaves of Bilva and Madar were pretreated to be used as bio adsorbents. The objective of the experiments was to infer the types of pretreatments and leaves required to remove the fluoride ions from the synthetic water without altering the healthy constituents of the water suitable for human consumption. Adsorption was performed by varying the parameters like pH and time range of the synthetic water. The leaves were treated with calcium chloride, sulphuric acid and sodium hydroxide and studied for Adsorption.Itwas concluded that alkaline treated leaves are far more effective in removing fluorideions.
