To whom it may concern:
I want to express my keen interest in obtaining a Physician Assistant position with a dermatology practice and to submit my CV for your consideration. With more than six years of experience providing high-quality patient care, I feel strongly that I am a great candidate to add to any team.
Until recently I worked in an urgent care setting in Thousand Oaks, California. In March of this year, my husband and I relocated to Bradenton to be back in our home state of Florida closer to family and friends. In May we welcomed our first child. Now that I have had an opportunity to spend some quality time with our son I am ready to continue my passion for practicing medicine.
Although you will see my experience in dermatology is limited, I am a highly motivated person who is willing and eager to learn. Prior to relocating to the Bradenton I attended several dermatology workshops in order to start working towards my goal of becoming a full time dermatology PA. As a former emergency room and urgent care PA, I saw many different complaints as well as performed many procedures including injections, I&D’s, wound closures and punch biopsies.
Beyond demonstrating my assessment and diagnostic skills in my recent position, I received an award given to health care providers who have had a positive impact on patient satisfaction and customer service, as measured by patient surveys. My team members chose me to sit on our company’s board as a lead PA, allowing me to be a voice for my peers. I am great at earning my colleagues’ trust and respect and establishing a strong rapport with my patients.
After I completed a bachelor’s degree in health science, I had the opportunity to shadow a dermatology PA. It was that experience that inspired me to pursue my own career as a PA. The patient-provider interaction is what I find most rewarding. It is an honor to be able to care for patients in their time of need, to be trusted with their concerns, and to be apart of the solution.
You will find me to be a dedicated clinician with excellent patient education and relationship-building ability and an interest in continuing to learn and expand my skills in dermatology. I am sure I would be an excellent addition to your growing team. Thank you in advance for your time; I look forward to speaking with you so I can share additional details about my background and learn more about your practice.
Sincerely,
Ashley Akers, PA-C, M.M.S.
