As Chief Engineer over a Spoolable Pipe Product, I was responsible for designing and upgrading equipment in a process with a high scrap rate and labor intensive for a new manufacturing facility.
Designed a multi-station resin dispensing system costing $300,000 that increased profits by
$1,000,000 per manufacturing line thru; material scrap, waste disposal, equipment setup and cleaning.
As Chief Engineer, I led a team of 60+ individuals to accomplish a $2MM major project within an 18 month timeframe. Result: The project was completed under budget and within the allowable timeframe.
Was instrumental by designing a product that decreased the weight by 2 tons and reduced cost of the bearing by $250,000. Result: Featured in Advanced Composite Magazine.
Integrated lasers into an engineering process to improve the correctness of ply placement. Result: Improved strength of product by 20%, reduced scrap rate, time and material savings of $1,875,000. Developed a reorganization plan for combining three departments of the company (Manufacturing – Engineering – Plant Engineering) into one new cluster for the purpose of streamlining productivity and communication.
