Automatic street lighting monitoring and controlling using IOT The project is designed for LED based street light with auto intensity control, powerd by solar energy the intensity control is achived through microcontroller of PIC family the solar system stores energy in a battery during day time and automatically operates street light in the evening with varying intensity control to minimize waste of energy photovoltaic panels are used for charging batteries by converting the sunlight into electricity a charge controller circuit is used to control the charging intensity of street light is requrid to be kept high during evening hours .As traffic on roads tends to decrease slowly in the late nights the intensity can be reduced progressively till morning to save energy thus street light are switched ON at the dusk and than off at the dawn automatically passing through gradual reduced intensity the LDR sensor will sense the night time and IR sensor will detect the vechicle the system uses two IR sensors one is placed at the starting point and the other is placed at the end point
