oStart-up of a packaging and logistics platform for a 3.5 million Tons Polyethylene (PE) and Polypropylene (PP) Plant in Singapore (January 2009-September 2012).
Head of the project management team of 15 managers/engineers (direct reports), a staff of 450 people and preparing the production ramp-up from 900 K tons/annum to 3,500 K ton/annum. Full P/L responsibility. A contract with an annual turnover of 43 million euro.
The team is responsible for the process and change management of the production plants and distribution center. The scale of the industrial services operations is considered a first of its kind in the industry.
Project included the start-up of production platforms for 4 new polymerization plants, 17 high speed packaging lines, labor force of about 450 people, a 300,000 pallet locations warehouse, 3,000 TEU container yard, 200 trucks full time on the road and a barging terminal to PSA port.
Responsibilities include the following areas:
Recruitment of the new, local management of 15 managers.

Start-up of the on-site operations at Bayer MaterialScience/Ineos Thailand, a 450 K per annum Polycarbonate Compounds, PC, ABS, SAN and BPA plant in Map ta Phut. Onsite handling of 320 K tons per annum.
Re-organizing the warehouse and packing set-up and the internal organization to optimize the product flows through the distribution platform and increase productivity of the packing operation (semi-automatic Newlong packing lines and manual palletizing) with 17.3% per year.
Identifying and optimize the operational bottlenecks, by reworking the incentive schemes and removing constraints.
Creation of the ‘Strengthen Safety Program’, a close co-operation between Katoen Natie’s and the customer’s safety teams. Today Katoen Natie has been operating the site for 4 years without LTI.
Achievements: Within 2 months, an operational and administrative team of 124 people was ready to take over the onsite packing and warehousing operations at Bayer MaterialScience. Since the take over, no downtime at the plant has been caused by the team.
