Prepaid based smart energy meter is a good concept in which we can recharge it's balance like we do in our mobile phones. In this project we are building an automated system by using Arduino and gsm module. We can recharge the electricity balance through this system, just by sending an sms. It can also disconnect the power connection, if there is a low balance in the system. And this system will reads the energy meter reading and automatically send some updates to user's mobile phone like low balance alert, cut off alert and recharge alert. For this project we have used 555 timer, 7474 ic and tsop1738 ir sensor. The aim of this project is to control lights or fans using a remote controller through an easily circuit based on 555 timer. The lights or fans can be made ON or OFF through any remote with IR transmitter can be used.
