UPMC Shadyside Hospital- Physician Assistant (PA-C), Full time—Hematology/Oncology Sept 2017- Current

- Perform daily inpatient rounds on unit for hematologic malignancy patients

- Responsible for complete internal medicine management including neuro, pulmonary, cardiovascular, GI, dermatology, as well as chemotherapy associated with hematologic malignancy

- Onboarding and training new providers. Training new graduate providers 1:1 for 3 months at a time. Teaching procedures such as bone marrow biopsy and intrathecal chemotherapy injections.

- Daily use of critical thinking, analytical and problem solving abilities as required for patient care

- Engage with all members of the clinical team to coordinate patient care and discharge planning

- Daily documentation of progress notes and history and physical exam notes

- Admit new patients to the hospital either direct admissions or through the Emergency Department

- Order, interpret, and properly attend to daily blood work and labs

- Order, interpret, and act upon imaging such as X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, EEGs, etc.

- Perform Bone Marrow Biopsies

- Perform Intrathecal Chemotherapy Injections

- Work productively and efficiently in a complex environment, handle multiple/ changing priorities

- Call and manage inpatient codes, perform ICU transfers as required

- Actively working to improve patient care and practice functionality, work with attending physicians daily and supervisors to provide best patient care

UPMC Children’s Hospital - Patient Care Technician (PCT) Full-time – 9B, Heme/Onc Dec 2014- Aug 2015

- Venipuncture, finger and heel sticks for blood and blood glucose levels. Performed EKGs.

- Other basic clinical skills such as simple dressings, peripheral IV removal, straight catheterization, etc.

- Assisted with bathing/ showering patients, changing diapers, keeping rooms clean, changing bed linens
