PROJECT EXPOSURE:
MINI PROJECT TITLE: “Foot step power generation by using piezoelectric material”.
EXPLAINATION: This project involves the conversion of the force energy into electrical energy. When a person walks, he loses energy to the ground. This energy can be tapped and converted in to electrical form. Footsteps are an untapped natural resource. By using piezoelectric material we can convert footstep energy to electrical energy. Whenever force is applied on piezoelectric crystals that force is converted into electrical energy. It is used to drive DC and AC loads.
MAJOR PROJECT TITLE: “Improved Active Power Filter performance for Renewable Power Generation Systems”.
EXPLAINATION: With integration of renewable power generation units in the distribution system harmonics are caused due to power electronic devices used in PWM converters. These nonlinear devices may cause poor power factor and high degree of harmonics. The harmonic distortion has to be eliminated before feeding it to the general loads. An active power filter implemented with a four-leg voltage-source inverter using a predictive control scheme is presented. MATLAB/SIMULINK power system toolbox is used to simulate the proposed system.
