Referral Center Assistant (Full-Time) August 2012 – Present

Under direct supervision of Referral Directors and Managers. Providing exceptional customer services and administrative support within the Referral Department.

Handles incoming/outgoing calls relating to patient’s referral and medical records. Respond to inquiries in a professional manner.

Input patient’s referral and nursing orders for both new and existing patients, utilizing various systems such as HomeCare HomeBase, Encore, and Forcura.

Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology and ICD9 codings.

Confers with internal and external customers such as insurance verifications, clinicians, and referral sources to ensure accuracy and timely processing of patient’s referral.

Crossed-trained and assist with Front Desk and Referral Writings on “as needed” basis.

Demonstrated understanding of HIPAA confidentiality and complies with Agency policies and procedures.
