My duties consisted of travelling to customer locations and programming, configuring and installation of hardware and software for the automation of broadcast systems related to ingest and playout from Master Control, all video, audio and commercial products the customer required. This included the wiring, interfacing and communication with dozens of other manufacturers and systems and controlling these products to a finite degree within a time tolerance of +-4 frames of video for playout, this included switchers, routers, servers, tape and cartridge driven devices, production switchers, satellite receivers, antenna systems, transmitters, and all forms of schedule based operations.

Designed and implemented TSL/STL link systems over digital radio, and fiber link, transmitter maintenance using Comark Digital UHF transmitters. Ended with Viacom purchase of CBS 2000.

Engineering Maintenance

Performed Maintenance Engineering repair and operational engineering for the NBC O&O station WCAU in Philadelphia, duties included repair, operation and configuration of Station STL, TSL radio, analog video router, monitors, switchers, automation, cameras, ingest tape and SDI first tier configuration for initial DTV operations in a #4 market station. Included helicopter camera and SNG link operation, camera shading, EIC for sporting events and operation.
