Design and Development of Hydrothermal Carbonization Reactor for Domestic Waste

Hydrothermal carbonization (HTC) is a thermal conversion technique that converts waste materials to a valuable, energy- rich, coal-like material (often termed hydrochar, biochar, or char). HTC technique involves heating of waste in pressurized container to about 180 to 250 for 3 to 4 hours. This breaks down the high molecular weight organic compounds to carbon residue.
Worked as a active member in a group of 5 people and contributed in developing the concept & carbonization Reactor and worked under machines to manufacture individual parts.
B - Tech Final year project : Active Solar Dryer
Project Title Design and development of Active solar Dryer for Grapes Platform College workshop
An active solar drier with forced air circulation is designed for drying 1.5 of grapes per batch. The functionality of the drier is extended by addition of a solar panel to charge battery that is used to extend the time of air circulation. Additional heaters are provided for night time operation using electrical power supply. Pretreatment of grapes is necessary for effective drying process.
