Confirm patient identification.
Take short history and write down for physician’s relevant notes. Review imaging request; checking special instruction. Assists and prepares patient during radiologic procedures providing proper instruction. Gains patient cooperation by reducing anxieties; providing explanation of the procedure and answering questions.
Conducts mammography by positioning breasts, adjusting compression mechanisms; instructing patients; adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors; activating equipment to take image; releasing compression and preparing for next positioning and view. Minimizes radiation to patient and staffs by practicing radiation protection techniques. Maintains records of patients in the department.
Encodes patient’s results.
