Senior Network Engineer - Primary responsibilities are design, implement, maintain, monitor & troubleshoot the corporate wide LAN/WAN, Data & Voice and WIFI network infrastructure.

Other responsibilities – Configure and manage routing policies configurations based on the company gold standards. Provide operational network support to local and remote sites. Perform IOS code upgrades for Cisco routers and switches. Work on escalations. Replace faulty hardware and generate Cisco TAC Cases. Create & submit RFCs for network changes. Key Projects accomplishments (2019)

Security Devices Refresh - Worked with the Security team to replace the exiting McAfee 4050 IPS with new Palo Alto 3260 NGFs appliances. My responsibility was to rack & stack the hardware. Run all copper and fiber connections as per the provided cut sheet. Configured and assigned new network interfaces on the core switches for the new FW devices and worked with the PM and the Security team to bring them online into production.

NAS Refresh - Worked with the NAS team to install new NetApp appliances. My responsibility was to rack & stack the hardware. Run all copper and fiber connections as per the provided cut sheet. Configured and assigned new network interfaces (access & trunked) on the core switches for the new Storage devices. Worked with the PM and NAS team to bring them online into production.

Network build for new site- Migrated over 200 users to new work space. My responsibility was to work on the new design network proposal, implement and configure all the LAN gears based on Amex gold standards. Configure multicast for video streaming. Rack & Stack all hardware and work with the ISP to install the new DIA circuits and bring them online. Coordinate and work with other IT groups Voice, Wireless and Security to bring the site into production.

Aruba Wireless controllers Refresh – Replaced and upgraded from Aruba 7210 to 7220 controllers. My responsibility was to Rack & Stack new 7220 controllers. Configure and assign new 10G network trunked interfaces, Port channels between core switches and new 7220 controllers. Coordinate and work with the wireless team to bring them online.

WIFI Wireless Refresh - Upgraded over 27 floors to new WAPs. My responsibility was to coordinate and work with the building management and cable vendor to mount the new Aruba 305 & 335 WAPs devices in the ceiling on each floor. Install new cat6e cable runs and patch panels to each IDF closets for the new WAPs. Configure and assign new network ports. Coordinate and work with the wireless team to provision the new WAPs and bring them online. Work with the Cable vendor to remove and decommission old WAPs devices from ceiling. (Refreshed over 600 WAPs.)

New DIA SD-WAN circuits - My responsibility was to work closely with the ISP and follow up with the progress of the installation of new DIA circuits. Coordinate and work with the PM and the SD-WAN team to migrate the site to the new DIA circuits. Rack & Stack new hardware and loaded initial config on the SD-WAN 2K & 5K vEdge routers.

IOS code upgrade Refresh – Perform IOS upgrades to company gold standard on the following network gears.

Catalyst 4500X, 3850 IOS-XE and Nexus 5K NX-OS.

Key Projects accomplishments

Consolidation project of two data centers. The project required the move of voice & data Cisco equipment’s and the re-configuration of fiber, cat5&6 cabling to meet the capacity of 3000 users. The migration had a cost savings of over 2 Million dollars.

Implementation of major projects Voice and Data in Headquarters, NYC, and all remote sites.

Successfully upgraded Cisco 6509 Core switches and routers to recommended IOS codes. The upgrade has saved the company $50K that would have been charged by the vendor.

Installation of SolarWinds Network Management System to diagnose and resolve network performance problems and outages. Successfully established and maintained LAN to LAN secure IPsec VPN tunnels with our business partners.
