RESEARCH ASSISTANT LAMAR UNIVERSITY AUGUST 2017 – DECEMBER 2017

I was assigned to work with an Industrial-Organization Professor at Lamar’s Psychology Department. As a research assistant, I was assigned to aid the professor with his research and classes. A few of my responsibilities included finding articles related to the professor’s research, sharing ideas about future research, as well as developing and presenting a PowerPoint on Industrial-Organization Psychology Graduate Program to his undergraduate students.

INTERN SAINT LEO UNIVERSITY’S HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT JANUARY 2017 – MAY 2017

During my senior year of Undergraduate, I worked as an intern for the Human Resources Office on campus. The major project I was assigned to was converting job descriptions into an upgraded format. After updating all the job descriptions, I established a database for Business Partners to locate information more efficiently. Other responsibilities included meeting with Business Partners, organizing their filing systems, and updating past employment records.

VOLUNTEER PREGNANCY CARE CENTER, LAKE CITY FL JULY 2010 & 2011 & 2012

During High School, I volunteered for three summers at a Non-Profit organization. Their mission focused on saving the lives of unborn children by providing classes to educate parents as well as supply them with the essentials. My responsibilities included assisting with the general setup of the organization’s annual fundraiser. The tasks included counting money, mailing, stocking shelves, copying, and filing.

Activities

Back in High School and Undergraduate College, I volunteered in several fundraisers and food drives. In High School, I was vice president of our Junior Civitan club, which was all about charity and giving back to the community. Our projects consisted of river clean-up, raising funds for the Special Olympics, and started a recycling program at the school. Freshman year of Undergraduate College, I was a member of Students for Environmental Awareness club. This group would focus on educating the campus regarding responsible stewardship. Our projects included refurbishing the recycling program around campus and cleaning up the lake. During undergrad, I was also a part of the Psychology Club for two years. While a member of the Psychology club, I had the opportunity to attend a conference in Atlanta, GA. During the conference, my group was able to present our poster to the Southeast Psychological Association.
