• All the laboratories for which I was responsible as well as the holder of the CLIA certificate had successful CAP, CLIA and NQA inspections. Duties included preparation for an inspection, includes review of policies and procedures. Creation of current exhibit books with current examples of questions and answers. Auditing the lab to ensure all reagents are properly labeled. Reviewing maintenance records, employee training and competency folders, and inspections of temperature records to ensure appropriate documentation. Evaluating all refrigerator and freezer contents for accurate labelling (received dates, open dates and expiration dates). Assuring all reagents, diluents and control are not expired.

• Creation of the Quality Council for the SW Regional laboratory. Took joint commission language and modified it to meet our type of facility which is a large reference laboratory. The purpose was to create a non-punitive environment to improve quality and improve processes and procedures. We engaged both front line employees and area managers to provide ways to improve laboratory processes.

• Employee Engagement: I maintained an open-door policy in a friendly, non-hostile environment that engaged both entry-level employees as well as those with significant experience.
