Perform specialized laboratory tests, including but not limited to:

Set up cultures, identifies microorganisms, perform molecular testing and antibiotic sensitivities, other duties as required.

Analyze and interpret samples of blood, cerebrospinal fluid, and body fluids from normally sterile sites, as well as respiratory, gastrointestinal, skin/soft tissue/bone, genital tract, and urine specimens.

Conduct testing to determine the susceptibility of pathogens to antimicrobial agents and analyze antibiotic resistance.

Analyze and interpret test results, creating comprehensive reports for healthcare professionals.

Collaborate effectively with physicians and healthcare staff to provide accurate diagnostic information.

Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, including proficiency testing and instrument validation.

Train and supervise laboratory assistants and staff members. Stay updated with advancements in laboratory techniques, technologies, and research in the specialized fields.
