I am originally from Medellín, Colombia. My university degree and early professional experience as a Social Worker have helped me becoming an empathetic and people- oriented individual. Concurrently, I received intensive training as a business secretary, during which I acquired and developed invaluable administrative skills. Upon arriving in the U.S. in 2017, I was hired as a salesperson at Metro by T-Mobile, where I quickly became the store manager within a few months. Subsequently, I relocated closer to Houston and secured a position as an accounting assistant with a wholesale international food company. In this role, I managed the office's accounting and handle most of the administrative tasks required to ensure the successful operation of the business. CONTACT

In this role, I undertook various key administrative functions, focusing on the responsible and discreet management of cash, checks, and transfers, which established me as a trusted individual for handling substantial amounts of money. My responsibilities included billing, payments to suppliers, daily bank account reviews, online deposits, and preparing payroll as well as financial reports. I also attended daily meetings to report on bank transactions, expenses, and purchases, collaborating closely with my direct supervisor. These tasks strengthened my skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and QuickBooks, as well as my ability to manage emails and utilize computers efficiently. My honesty, discretion, and sense of responsibility have been fundamental to my performance.
I worked for two and a half years at this company, starting as a floor salesperson. After three months, I was promoted to store manager, where I was responsible for managing a team of three people. My duties included inventory management, cash register operations, cash handling, daily deposits, and overseeing store supplies. I was also responsible for training and onboarding all new salespeople. Additionally, I focused on achieving daily sales goals and resolving customer issues to continuously improve customer service. During this time, I developed effective communication skills with customers, initially in Spanish, while consolidating my English communication skills. My sense of responsibility, respect, proactivity, leadership, and ability to learn quickly are qualities that defined me in that role. ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT
