PROFILE

Music,science, and art have been my primary interests my entire life. Collecting record albums and educating myself on how and who made them began in the early 1980’s. After graduating from high school I attended college to study music for film. I eventually graduated from Full Sail in 1994 and began a career as a recording engineer. During the first decade of recording music I became proficient in the art of analog recording and making i work with new technology via SMPTE and MIDI. My love of music and the human interaction with technology may be my greatest strength

EXPERIENCE

Freelance Producer/Mixer Engineer Jacksonville and Orlando, FL — 2001-Present

For the past 25 years I’ve recorded music for artist Shinedown,Paramore and Susan Tedeschi earning me gold and platinum awards. In addition, a Grammy nomination for engineering Susan Tideschi’s “Wait For Me” album produced by the legendary Tom Dowd.

Independent Producer Engineer Jacksonville, FL — 2012-2016

During this time period I moved back to Jacksonville and worked as a producer and engineer while

Owner The Fort Studio — 2005-2012

In 2005 I purchased a recording studio in Winter Springs, Fl. It was a two room commercial facility with an SSL 4000e and a production room with a Protools controller. The A room was Protools HD with a 2” 24 track Ampex machine. Outboard consisted of API and Neve mic pres and dynamics along the the typical world class time based effects. Paramore recorded their first album there and I produced the Summer Tic EP there as well. About 75% of my personal work at this point was mixing since it was becoming affordable to make good recordings with smaller budgets.

RCA RecordsA&R — 2002-2003

Free securing a record contract for the band 3AE with RCA I was hired for a year as a representative of the company.

Made In The Shade Studio Chief Engineer — 1999-2002

I was hired to run a vintage API console based studio inJacksonville Beach, FL. While the, I was working with Steve Robertson from Atlantic Records developing talent. I assembled and made the demo recordings for the band Shinedown. The version of the song “45” made the album cut and became one of their first radio hits. I also met prod Made In The Shade Studio Chief Engineer — 1999-2002 mDowd who hired me to engineer Susan Tedschi’s record since I new how to still record to analog tape.

Jazzmin Studio Chief Engineer — 1994-1999

After graduating and interning at Mirror Image studio in Gainesville, FL I happened upon an opportunity to finish wiring a recording studio in Jacksonville. The at the time unknown band Limp Bizkit came in and I was credited as producing their first EP “Counterfeit” which was released by Flip records.
