Computer Programmer
Park Place Entertainment, Atlantic City, New Jersey 1997-2001
Worked in the Slot Data Systems Department for a countrywide casino corporation. As well as maintaining existing computer programs, I was responsible for creating new programs in c/c++ for an IBM RS600 AIX/Unix system. Responsible for end user technical, software, and hardware support for 3 local casinos as well as 5 casinos located across the United States. Troubleshooting hardware and software problems for Slot Department as well as end users. Part of the installation/start-up team for new casino slot data systems working with various gaming regulators.
Developed a cross-server socket program to keep the back-up server as up to date as the live, on-line server. This program required changing an existing parsing program to send the raw data to the socket program, which in turn sent this raw data to the parser program on the back-up server. After successful testing and debugging, this program was implemented on all systems at all the casinos that we provided support.
