To The Hiring Partner

On January 28, 2022, my Wife of 35 years, died from a stroke. Due to a poorly drafted trust document, our son? Stole $250,000 from me. That being said, I have to get back to work as a Litigation Paralegal or a Legal Assistant. Before you simply say “NEXT” please read the following:

I’m know that I’m older than you are used to see applying for a job as a Paralegal. I received my Paralegal Certificate from Roosevelt University in 1980. I wanted to see if Law was for me before I decided to go to Law School. After receiving my certificate, I felt that I would probably have a decent chance at making it in Law School, so I applied at The Bar Association for the LSAT. For whatever this is worth, I was offered a job teaching the LSAT I had to explain that I was trying to get into Law School so teaching the course probably wouldn’t be my or their best choice but thank you. At the same time, I started working at Arnstein, Gluck, Lehr, Barron and Milligan in the then Sears Tower on the 75th floor. I did well on the LSAT and applied to and was accepted by John Marshall Law School for their Summer 1980 Program. I received a final grade of 3.0. Unfortunately, due to pressing family matters, I was not able to continue my formal legal education. I continued as a Litigation Paralegal until 1991. I have worked in 800 Attorney and 1 Attorney firms, always finishing any project before the Attorney wanted it. Due to my time at John Marshall Law School, I learned Legal Research, Legal Writing using books and computers. I will be your albatross.

I specialized in Personal Injury, Entertainment, Civil, Real Estate and Family Law.

I realize that there has been a considerable lag in my employment as a Paralegal, and Covid added to this, but I am ready and willing to resume giving 100% 40 hours a week or as needed and at whatever fee you are willing to pay. If necessary, I will work 7 days a week. Before you simply write me off, give me a chance to prove myself to you. I can take a new client from initial meeting to Filing a New Case with the Court, Filing and Checking Service, Attending any and all calls. Since I have some Law School under my belt, I can do Legal Research either using the standard Court Books, computers and or using Lexis. I can Shepardize cases for you. I can summarize Depositions, and due to my Movie Skills, I can also Shoot Video Depositions if the case arises. I will become a valuable employee! If you need or want someone to travel and hand deliver documents, I have a good car. I am 100% serious. I have two suits, white shirts and many ties, and I know how to represent a Law Firm. I worked at one firm where the Attorney over booked and I had to go to court for him. I never ran into a problem and represented the firm as expected.

The only learning curve will be learning to do everything on computer, but this will not be difficult. My IQ was rated at 153. If I can’t do it, it can’t be done.

I look forward to hearing from you. Please call me at 847-***-**** or E mail me at ***********@*****.*** James Schiller. I will always give 100 percent. If it matters, I am skilled in Videography.

Sincerely,

James D. Schiller
