I started at Suncor’s Calgary head office in Nov.2016 as a senior field operator. During my stay in Calgary I help review and verify lesson plans as well as ITC modules for all S.E posts. I transitioned up to the Fort Hills site in Jan.2017 and continued to help develop question and answer keys for lesson plans as well as mentoring junior operators as they came aboard. I have developed/reviewed Initial Commissioning Procedures that were required for start-up. I have always taken an active role in safety and lead by example. Currently I have been promoted to Shift Supervisor in Secondary Extraction at the Fort Hills facility.

Senior Control Room Panel Operator HCU/ASU
Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Hydro-Cracker Unit as well as the Air Separation Unit. Daily activities consisted of, but not limited to, monitoring the process temperatures, pressures and flows along with adjusting reactor profiles in order to maintain product specifications. Responsible for ensuring that all bypasses were logged and alarm reviews completed as well as logging and entering work requests. I was responsible for the training of junior panel operators and evaluation performance. I also developed, updated and redlined S.O.P’s, Shutdown/Start-up procedures as well as Emergency procedures. Also work closely with Emerson and Spartan controls in order to help streamline process logic.

Senior Field Operator/Junior Panel Operator
At Methanex I started as a Water Treatment Operator. Performing various water tests on boilers and turbine condensates as well operating a package Boiler and regenerating Cation/Anion and Mixed beds. I also moved through the Utilities Area which consisted of Cooling Towers, plant river water make-up, Emergency Retention ponds and Emergency Generators. During the years to come I would work through all six field areas which included; Water Treatment, Reforming, Compression, Ammonia Field and a Kellog Ammonia Method Plant as well as the Utilities area. I was responsible for equipment rounds, lockouts, start-ups and turn-around planning. Along with those duties I trained junior field operators and evaluated their progression as well as the ongoing updating of training manuals.
