I have been working in customer service for over 20 years, primarily in a veterinary environment. However, I have several skills and tools that I have learned over the years that will make me a great candidate for customer service regardless of the field. I had worked in an animal shelter for 11 years. The skills at that shelter that I excelled at were data integrity, customer service, consulting and treating patients alongside the vet on staff, taking care of the needs of citizens with sick or injured pets, etc. I did assist in surgery, however, I mainly assisted in recovery of the animals and prepared surgery instruments/equipment. I assisted in the adoption process and consultations of adopters seeking pets with or without issues, addressing whatever needs and concerns that they may have. Prior to the animal shelter job, I worked as a receptionist for multiple years at an animal clinic. I am very knowledgeable with Microsoft Word, office, and PowerPoint and am currently working on improving in Excel. Although there may be skills that I have not used in a while, or new skills that I may learn, I am very efficient at what I do.
