Jessica, and Joe,
Sounds like your advisor has a good plan. Withdrawing should not affect the GPA; I was concerned about the financial aid.
If you decide not to continue putting any effort into a class you intend to drop, I think that's a wise move. Put that effort into your remaining classes. Here's hoping April and the team at ARC can get you some accommodations that can help you succeed, espeially the extended exam time! If I can help in any way in the future, let me know! I enjoyed meeting you both!

Good evening,
This is Joe Chavis, it was a pleasure meeting you today. We spoke to her advisor right after we talked to April, and the advisor told us that if we drop the class after the 29th, then she will have completed more than half the class or something of the sort, and so financial aid will not revoke any aid awarded this year. It will however go against the limit she can withdrawal from (the limit being 9 credit hours). She does not have any withdrawals so far, so we are going to use 3 credits of that limit for this class. I think this method of dropping the class will not lower her GPA? I have never dropped one so I wasn’t sure and I forgot to ask her advisor. We will drop the class towards the end of this month, so you may see her stop submitting assignments as this topic really stresses her out. Perhaps we will see each other again someday, until then take care!

I enjoyed meeting you today! Hope Ms April in ARC was helpful! Things to think about:
1. How dropping the class will affect financial aid. 2. If it's possible to drop it, then add an eight-week class of another type. 3. How will an eight-week class affect your current course load...that is also a lot of work.
4. If you don't drop, how will a failing grade work with your GPA and financial aid. 5. I hope you stopped by the tutoring office and set up a tutor. 6. Remember that the last day to withdraw is Oct 31. That gives you time to see if a tutor is enough help.
7. Make sure to discuss all this with your advisor. Enjoy the rest of your day!

My schedule is on the syllabus, so you can see when I'm in class and when I'm free. The only thing not on there is a committee on Wednesday at 1:00. I'm happy to meet you later in the day, since you have a drive, or even on the weekend, if you don't mind me bringing a very large puppy with me.
