Installing Midwest Energy and Communications (MEC) house drop Fiber Optic wire from the Pedistool, Small Hand Hole Vault, Pole, or other requested area determined by MEC, to the House. Open Pedistolls and Vaults to determine wire locations, check for hazards, and follow 811 Miss Dig Underground Utility spotting protocols when applicable. Locate underground dog fences, propane lines, and other underground hazards using the company provided locating equipment. Some jobs requiring a lot of walking and lone worker task to complete the assignments. Very familiar with MEC Hard Line and Areial operations, including field supervisors and MEC's expectations. Blue prints and MEC Drop sight plans reviewed at each job, footage numbers and line locations recorded . Work hours vary due to weather conditions, routes, and priority jobs dispatched by MEC. Many work days are 10 to 12. Familiar with locating for the underground bore machine, and take of the two way radios. Familiar with MEC contractors doing this project.
