I'm pleased to submit my application for the position you have advertised. I'm an experienced professional with many years of hands-on experience in concrete construction. I am a first- generation concrete builder that started trimming swimming pools and wheeling concrete for pool decks. I went from there to Carlton Construction where I learned concrete forming, finishing, and skip loader operation. During that time, I went to night school at American River College here in Sacramento studying mathematics. I successfully completed classes through Trigonometry. I was able to apply that knowledge in the field with the use of surveying equipment and a detailed understanding of the blueprints. I am responsible for the accurate and efficient placement of many projects in and around Sacramento with crews I trained myself. I spent 12 years owning and operating T.M. Precast Inc where I completed many more landmark projects here in Sacramento such as R.T. Metro Heavy Repair Facility and Amerisource Bergen Distribution. During that time, I worked as Estimator, Project Manager, and helped schedule crews and equipment.

I have worked for others since then and retired in 2020. I greatly enjoy working with motivated professionals and helping a team succeed because success is not a one-person job. I have found I am not quite ready for retirement, and I am looking forward to a multi-year commitment with the right company and team.
