Ellis Medicine- Here at Ellis hospital in Niskayuna NY. This was the first job that I held as an new phlebotomist.While working at Ellis I learned how to order and register patients with the appropriate patient information and any and all test based of the lab requisition.I also had a chance to work inpatient and outpatient so i have seen all different types of veins and have used more than one technique to successfully administer a venipuncture.I also had chances to collect and process other types of specimens.
Volunteer Speaker - I often go back to my school where I took my phlebotomy class at.I share with the upcoming students some tips.Also sharing some of my experiences while working as an phlebotomist that may help in anyway.Such as different learning and test taking strategies.I also help explain clinicals in and tell them what to expect and prepare for to the new phlebotomy student at my school.
