After my husband suddenly passed away in July 2019 I sold my big house in Henderson, NV and moved with my adult son back to California to be closer to my parents. Covid hit right after we arrived in California and I took 4 years to adjust to my next phase in life and I’m ready to start a part time job 15-20 hours a week, maybe with a home healthcare agency since I did that for over 30 years. My passion is taking care of others and showing them how positivity can change their outlook on life.

Boy Scout Assistant To a Pack Leader

September 2006 to May 2019

Troop 719 Henderson, NV

Den leader Mike Townsends assistant with his wife Joannie. We collected money for dues, camping, any activity the boys were signed up for, we organized & ran all activities weekly, kept all the parents involved and informed on the workings of the Pack and worked closely with each family so their son could become a successful EAGLE SCOUT, it’s a huge 11-13 year commitment. The joy and confidence you see on their faces when their Eagle Scouts ceremony arrives is all the payment you need for all the hard work Joannie

& I did. It was so rewarding.

Our scouts were mentored by myself, Joannie, Mike and their individual pack leaders & co-leaders. We helped many find sponsors for single parents and parents with financial difficulties so their scouts and their siblings could attend every weekend event, box car race, projects, earn badges & pins. We had mostly male pack leaders because many boys needed father figures & mentors. To watch each boy do their Eagle Projects & all his buddies to help them. Achieving an Eagle Scout status is a huge sense of pride and their families and friends are thrilled when they attend their ceremony & party we give them after.

My son has been chosen for jobs he didn’t even have skills for yet because the interviewer was an Eagle Scout or their son was a Boy Scout. I

It shows commitment and dedication.

PTA Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary & teachers aide volunteer September 2006 to June 2015

I was very active in PTA when my son was in 1st-8th grade, organized activities, recruited sponsors, created volunteer committees, volunteered at sporting events inside school & outside sports my son was in. The AYSO soccer team mates asked me to be their permanent snack mom, I gladly took on the challenge and added in a cooler full of zero sugar Gatorade, and waters. Cherished those days because your kids go from newborn to 18 so fast.

Foster Parent in Clark County, Nevada

December 2000 to August 2003

My late husband & I were licensed Foster parents. Social workers would call me urgently needing to place an infant or toddler or a few siblings usually due to abuse, neglect or parents being incarcerated. We foster to adopted our son at 2 weeks old, he was born addicted to alcohol & drugs, failure to thrive, had oxygen taped to his little face and an apnea monitor strapped around his chest that sent a piercing alarm when he stopped breathing.

He was diagnosed with ADHD, FAS & High Functioning Autism and is trying to adapt to main stream society.

My late husband was a quadriplegic when we got married, he became a Jr. Architect and was a loving, funny guy and a hard worker.
