DUTIES

Visual Inspection Cycle:

-Locate property by legal description, make physical inspection of property.

- Verify and update physical characteristics of buildings improvements.

-Take photos and enter information into CAMA system using digital camera or mobile device.

- Sketch building improvements using mobile devices.

-Talk to property owners/tenants/builders on site if possible, to verify information.

- Receives and accounts for all work assigned.

Building Permits:

-Locate and inspect properties with new improvements or changes to existing improvements.

-Sketch new building improvements using mobile device.

--Read and interpret blueprints if necessary to aid in sketching improvements.

- Take photos and enter into CAMA system using digital camera or mobile device.

-Check improvement quality to make sure it is consistent with surrounding properties and to verify that it is consistent with current market conditions.

-Review final value to make sure it is equitable with similar type properties and to make sure it is consistent with current market conditions..

-Receives and accounts for all work assigned.

Hearings:

-Speak with taxpayers regarding property value increases or valuations in general, 2) Analyze all documentation provided including sales information financial statements, appraisals, construction costs and closing statements.

-Inspect property if necessary to determine if any discrepancies exist in building characteristics or condition of improvements.

-Review all data and evaluate each approach accordingly.

-Make a final determination of value and notify taxpayer of the decision.

-Receives and accounts for all work assigned.

-If necessary, prepare documentation for County Board of Equalization hearings.

- If necessary, represent the Assessor’s Office in front of the County Board of Equalization to defend values.

-If necessary, prepare documentation for District Court hearings and with Assistant District Attorney.
