Management/Supervisory Skills:

Hired and trained employees, performed payroll obligations, created, and assigned schedules to employees, and performed monthly profit and loss reports.

Managed the optical department in Wal-Mart. This department profited $35,000 a year when I onboarded. I was able to raise profits up to $500,000 through creating promotions within the store, creating partnerships and relationships within the community, attending community engagements and events, and providing free services to agencies in need.

Sales/Merchandising

Created merchandise displays that were appealing to customers, displayed merchandise in prominent locations to appeal to the customer, Interpersonal skills, detail oriented, and efficient in planning.

During the summer months I created a display that promoted sunglasses and contact lenses to wear sunglasses. During these months promotions were created to draw in patients. With this promotion we were able to obtain 250-300 more patients.

Customer Service:

Made sure to listen attentively to the customers needs and complaints, had thorough knowledge of products, sales, and promotions, always maintained professionalism when dealing with customers.

A patient of mine was on vacation and needed contacts, they were from out of state. I contacted the patients doctor and was able to obtain the patient’s prescription. This enabled the patient to finish her vacation uninterrupted.

Provided a calming and patient environment for anxious children when they needed to perform a screening for glasses.

Team Building:

Held weekly team meetings by going over any new developments, processes, merchandise, promotions, and sales. Created agendas for the meetings for all team members to be abreast of pertinent information.

•Created a cross training schedule for all employees to be able to perform each job within the department. This assisted with team building and appreciation of others’ positions.

•Received an award from management specific to promotion and team building.
