Development of plans, schedules, contracts, procedures, and construction methods and systems
Supervise the construction engineering work and provide technical expertise for one or more of the construction engineering disciplines. Establishes and maintains liaison with the discipline design engineering staff. Monitors material procurement and deliveries to ensure timeliness in support of construction activities and schedules within the assigned discipline Ensures that materials received meet specifications and established standards of quality.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate Analyses applicable codes, standards, and project contract documents and monitors construction activities to ensure compliance with contract documents. Maintains and prepares a variety of records, including daily/weekly progress reports, material accounting records, change orders, and record drawings. Provide assistance to the Project Engineer/Site Engineer. Responsible for supervising, directing, and coordinating the inspection team. Conduct weekly meetings with inspectors and the Project Engineer. Ensuring that responses are complete and in compliance with the contract documents. Where problems are found, work with the Project Engineer to resolve them.
Assist the Senior Discipline engineer in identifying, responding to or evaluating technical issues to maintain the schedule.
Attends progress review meetings and coordination meetings to assist the Project Lead/Senior Engineer in resolving any site issues such as discrepancies in project’s drawings.
Participates in the coordination and monitoring of snagging and project handover Provide support to the Resident Engineer/Team lead to ensure projects run smoothly by providing expert knowledge and advice. Liaises with the Design Engineer on modifications if required. Gives daily site reports and highlights issues that arise on-site to the Project Lead. Contributes in the preparation of all kinds of reports and as directed by the project lead.
