Dear Mr. Hatch:

I am writing to inform you that I am formally rescinding the resignation document that I was coerced to sign at the meeting with you and Joe Rightmyer on Friday, June 2, 2023. As you know, I was in severe emotional distress, during the meeting, due to the fact that I was blindsided with the threat of dismissal. As you will remember, I had to leave the office in an attempt to compose myself and return later after you advised that if I did not immediately sign that resignation, I could fight the termination but I would be terminated anyway. When I returned after a few minutes, I hesitantly complied and signed a document that I was not given a copy of.

I was not, and have not, been afforded my constitutional due process rights. I was not presented with any disciplinary documents that have been prepared concerning the termination that I was threatened with. When I got home and read the resignation document you required me to sign, I saw it is disparaging to me. I do not know who created the resignation form. It is not a resignation that I would prepare and turn in to be in my permanent file. I formally disagree with the content of that form.

I have exhibited a wide range of skills and expertise whilst working at the State of Alabama, and have achieved success in most duties during my employment, as evidenced on my performance appraisals.

It is with regret that I cannot continue my employment here. Over the past two years, I have been the victim of unfair treatment by individuals with whom I was required to have contact. I feel that I was not given adequate support and assistance. Additionally, my personal health record has been repeatedly divulged even after me asking my supervisor to ensure our conversations be held private. My job performance suffered greatly due to the stress associated with the treatment. I feel that I have no unbiased advocate there to get any fair resolution, therefore, I believe it is now time for me to depart.

This resignation is effective Tuesday, June 6, 2023.

I request a complete copy of my personnel file to include, but not limited to, Performance Appraisals, training, certificates, and all disciplinary actions. I request these as soon as possible.

Finally, I respectfully request that you notify my supervisors and all others concerned the following:

1) I should be afforded my privacy. If there are any inquiries concerning my departure, it be told that I resigned.

2)That I am not disparaged, in any manner, by the Administration, supervisors, or any employees of the State of Alabama.
