I consisted of sweeping up, mopping, cleaning out mirrors, and for the offices and the Sugar Factory I would take out the trash as well as cleaning couches or chairs.
Dog Breeder, — Taking care of newborn puppies
April 2023 - December 2023
Bred my two dogs, they had 2 litters, the first litter was sold completely, consisted of 7 puppies and the 2nd litter consisted of 5 puppies which we only sold 2 and kept 3. In the first litter I was on summer break so I made sure to take care of them from the moment the mother went into labor until they were sold. The second litter, it was more difficult for me since I was in school, so I had to manage school and take care of 5 newborn puppies until 2 of them were sold, but we still kept 3. Throughout all that process, I was the only one taking care of all of the puppies for the first and second litter as well as caring for the mother and father. Now we have 5 dogs that I try to make sure they're being cared for. Since I am in my senior year of high school. I'm not home as often, but when I am, I make sure that they aren't being neglected because I'm mostly the only one who tries taking proper maintenance of them. And it's not like it is easy since the mother is a Husky and German Shepherd mix, and the father is a Husky and Rottweiler mix, so they must be taking care of a lot.
Tutoring, A tutor for my young cousin
September 2023 - May 2024
Mainly I would tutor her in English, Science, and Math, as well as Reading. I would tutor her over the weekends for about 2 hours a day, sometimes for 3 or 5 hours if she needed help with a school project. While I was tutoring her, her grades went up and she seemed to understand better. Throughout me tutoring her, there were certain methods that I had to change because she wasn't paying much attention. It was easy for her to get distracted, so I had to engage more with her and change my teaching style for her to do her work in a way that she could understand properly.
EDUCATION
Kipp Whittier High School, 740 Chestnut St, Camden, NJ 08103 — 9th grade
August 2020 - June 2021
Only went there for my freshman year of high school because it was not a school that I was comfortable being in or was what I wanted academically.
Creative Arts High School, 1700 Park Blvd, Camden, NJ 08103 — High school
September 2021 - Current/On going
Have been in Creative Arts High School since my sophomore year and I am currently still attending. It has been a great school especially academically, I've learned so much more than in my previous school and I have also grown out of my comfort zone since attending Creative Arts. This school has really helped me understand myself better and find my passion on what I want to become and what I want to study for college. It has been the perfect school for me, unlike any other school that I've been to in my previous years
PROJECTS
Fashion Show — Fashion Show competition
I take Fashion Design as my major, and since my junior year, we started to make Fashion Shows to show the students progress of what the Fashion students are capable of and what we are working on in class. It is a great way for the Fashion Design class to show their capacity in the fashion industry, as well as the school gets to see our overall work and they get to see how much effort we can put into our Fashion Shows, from our ideas and vision to our final pieces.
The Fashion Show for my junior year was a competition between sophomores, juniors, and seniors, with the help of freshmans who decorated the set. The theme was ancient Egypt. We did this show at the end of the school year on June 14th, 2024 at 5:30 pm in the black box theater at Creative Arts High School. Each individual grade had to come up with at least 5 to 7 looks- including their avant-garde piece- depending on the amount of people in each grade, so at least 1 person made a design each. For my look I crochet sleeve arm gloves with a small sting that was tied to be a bow at the top for a tighter fit, I cut some khaki pants into long shorts, took out their front pockets, cut the rest of the fabric into straps that I hand stitched on top of them to make them look mummified. I crochet a mesh skirt to layer on top of the shorts, bleached a teal shirt and dyed it into a more brown gold color and cut the sleeves and cropped the bottom, I also made the collar more into a v shape, then I added some blue yarn stitching at the ends to give it more detail. I also grabbed two shear thighs, layer them together as if they were one, and cut them into stocking length, then I rolled them up and stitched them together creating a look of a hem. My model was a freshman with a darker skin complet, and my colors were browns, tans and some blues, which looked great on my model and made the look really come together. I also had to take fabric from the shorts I made since my model was smaller than the size of the shorts, I took fabric from the size to make it more fitted on her body while taking advantage of the original hem stitching inside the shorts to make it seem like they were made to fit her perfectly.
At the end of the competition the judges came to a vote and the seniors won, yet my teacher later told me that my look was a favorite among the whole juniors because it was different from that of my classmates while still being in vision with the theme of ancient Egypt .
